HR Consulting Firm Reshapes Its Business: Robertson Surrette Consolidates its Brands

Halifax, Nova Scotia – January 13, 2005 Mark Surrette, president of Atlantic Canada’s leading HR consulting firm, Robertson Surrette, is pleased to announce the consolidation of its five business units under one common brand.

For over 25 years now, the Robertson Surrette Group has delivered high quality human resource solutions to clients throughout Atlantic Canada through various business units including: Meridia Recruitment Services, BrainsTalent.com, KWA Partners Atlantic, Ray & Berndtson/Robertson Surrette and Genesis Resource Group. These organizations have now merged together, offering the same services as one common brand. The key practice areas of Robertson Surrette are recruitment, career transition and human resource consulting. While the firm will continue its partnership affiliation at the national level with Ray & Berndtson in executive search and KWA Partners in career management, it will operate under the Robertson Surrette banner locally.

Surrette is excited about the changes within the organization and believes it will provide a platform for enhanced business relationships amongst existing and potential clients. “The re-tooling of our organization resulted from our firm’s strong desire to simplify and clarify our business for our clients. I also believe it signals our firm’s continued growth and client focus,” said Surrette. “The new brand has also ignited a spark of enthusiasm and renewed commitment internally with our team as we fulfill our brand promise of helping Atlantic Canadian businesses to Build Great Companies,” continued Surrette.

As part of the new consolidated organization, Surrette is also pleased to announce some internal management changes. Jeff Forbes and Kevin Stoddart have recently been named Vice Presidents within Robertson Surrette. Both Forbes and Stoddart previously held senior leadership positions in Robertson Surrette’s contingency recruitment practice, formerly known as Meridia.

“I have a great deal of confidence in these two individuals and in our entire team. Both Jeff and Kevin have exhibited outstanding leadership during the past several years. This, combined with their solid business track records is sure to mean good things for our firm, and our clients,” said Surrette.

Surrette indicated that the very capable team of key practice leaders will continue to deliver the stellar service Robertson Surrette clients have come to expect. These individuals include:

Suzanne Rosson, Partner & Practice Leader, Career Transition, Nova Scotia
Pierre Battah, Partner & Practice Leader, Career Transition, New Brunswick
Jan Dicks, Partner, Robertson Surrette, Newfoundland
Lloyd Powell, Partner, Robertson Surrette, Newfoundland

Robertson Surrette now operates as one firm with a staff of over 30 employees working in five Atlantic Canadian cities including Halifax, Moncton, Saint John, St. John’s and Charlottetown.
