Spirit Soars High
The
Robertson Surrette Racers pulled out all the stops to
finish in 13th place overall in the eighth annual Manulife
Dragon Boat Festival held Saturday, July 9, 2005 at
Lake Banook. An impressive result considering 65 teams
were entered in the race.
The
event, an organized fundraiser in support of the Nova
Scotia Amateur Sport Fund, helps increase participation
in sport by supporting amateur athletes, coaches, officials,
and community-based programs throughout Nova Scotia.
Over $123,700 was raised in total this year.
The
Robertson Surrette team did an outstanding job in year
one with a time of 56.846 seconds. Rumor has it, training
for next year has already begun. Congratulations to
all!
