Employee Engagement: Your Passport to Organizational Success
Maritime Travel Leader Shares Insight on Best Practices
It all comes down to listening and learning. In short, that’s the secret key organizations need to unlock the vault and get to the heart of the matter around Employee Engagement.
Speaking as a guest presenter at Robertson Surrette’s 2006 Lunch & Learn Leadership Series held in the Compass Room at Casino Nova Scotia on June 8th, Maritime Travel’s President of Retail, Carol Buchanan, emphasized the importance of listening and learning from your employees. It’s also about building and supporting key practices into our culture so they happen every day and become second nature.
Buchanan believes that Maritime Travel is very committed to improving work processes and always looking for ways to do it faster, easier and better. She indicated that it’s a combination of initiative and openness that will enable your organization to excel. She drew one example to highlight a recent advancement made by their firm attributing a great deal of Maritime Travel’s success to the work done by the IT group at the firm. The willingness to affect changes to programs or processes that impacted the daily work of the travel consultants and branch managers was overwhelming. In fact, at a recent corporate-wide conference – the entire room rose to applaud their work. Now that’s powerful.
