United Way CEO Shares Lessons Learned
Leadership through the Choppy Waters of Change
First-hand knowledge and real life experience significantly enhances one’s ability to speak credibly on a particular topic. Undoubtedly that’s why Catherine Woodman delivered such an impactful presentation last week to a group of Robertson Surrette clients and friends gathered to wrap up our 2006 Lunch & Learn Leadership Series on Retention at Casino Nova Scotia.
Throughout her career, Woodman’s extensive private and public sector experience in communications and human resource management has enabled her to become extremely adept at helping people manage through work-life change.
During her presentation Woodman spoke to a group of over 70 HR professionals about four key points to carefully consider when leading an organization through change:
- know yourself
- engage in authentic communication
- give opportunities for direct involvement, and finally;
- foster human connection
