Recruitment and Retention – The New Reality: Pierre Battah presents to HRANB

Pierre Battah recently presented “Recruitment and Retention – The New Reality” to the first ever breakfast meeting of the newly formed Human Resource Association of New Brunswick, (HRANB) Bathurst Chapter.

Robertson Surrette was instrumental in assisting in the creation of this northern New Brunswick Chapter having invited a number of potential interested parties to an initial information meeting in 2006.  Long time HRANB volunteers, Anita Belliveau, Debbie Cusack and Pierre Battah responded to an expression of interest by client Doug Turner of Xstrata to start a Chapter in this area. The recent breakfast meeting was the culmination of many hours of work in getting the Chapter off the ground by both Doug Turner and his new executive, as well as HRANB representatives at the provincial and local levels.

Pierre’s talk focused on the changing climate for recruitment facing most organizations today and shared best practices regarding recruitment and retention strategies.  The essence of his presentation highlighted the importance of employment branding in recruitment and emphasized retention as an outcome of integrated HR policies and practices.

As the geography in northern New Brunswick is vast, the Chapter has asked Pierre to give a repeat presentation to the Chapter’s members in the Campbellton/Dalhousie area in late June 2007.
