President's Message
People often ask me, "What's the secret to building great companies?" It's a fundamental question that has fascinated me over the years.
I've watched hundreds of Atlantic Canadian organizations try to find the magic formula for sustainable success. Some have made investments in technology, while others have pursued it through sales, quality or innovation. All these investments have the potential to strengthen an organization, but I've found the one thing that truly great organizations have in common is their people - they all have great people.
It starts when an organization bases its values on attracting, retaining and engaging the top talent in its industry. It relies on leaders who understand that aligning their people with their strategy is the key to producing exceptional results.
Demographic shifts, out-migration and immigration - these complex issues pose significant challenges for our region. Yet, in the face of a looming talent shortage, it's the opportunities we have to establish ourselves as employers of choice in Atlantic Canada that excite me.
Instead of building competitive advantages through technology, access to information or economies of scale, we can do it by focusing on, investing in and harnessing the power of people. We can do it by developing employment brands and organizational cultures that attract and engage the best of the best. Most importantly, we can do it and set a standard for other employers and regions around the world to follow.
At Robertson Surrette, we have had the privilege of helping to build great companies across Atlantic Canada. For over thirty years, we have assisted clients in recruiting talent, developing leadership capacity and creating high-performance teams. That's our passion and our business.
Simply put, we are dedicated to helping clients make smart people decisions because we see that, when they succeed, we all succeed.
