Kevin Stoddart

Leading the largest team of recruitment professionals in Atlantic Canada, Kevin brings proven expertise and a keen eye for talent.

Having successfully completed literally hundreds of search assignments, he has the knowledge and experience necessary to help his clients improve their business. “Organizations hire us to bring forth exceptional individuals who will positively impact their business. The primary differentiator in business is people; talented people drive success, without them organizations struggle to compete. It’s not location, technology, or marketing. These things all matter, but without talented employees, long-term success cannot be achieved……that’s where we come in”. Kevin and his team know that the caliber of employees dictates how companies perform. They have access to some of the best and brightest candidates in Atlantic Canada, and those looking to return.

Driven by a strong desire to achieve success for clients, Kevin's network within the business community is what sets him apart. And he brings that same commitment to the candidates Robertson Surrette works with, knowing that their individual needs are critical factors. “As the labor market tightens and skilled people become increasingly scarce, the relationships we maintain with talented candidates will allow us to deliver results. The trust and rapport we have with these individuals gives us an advantage when engaging top talent. The quality of these relationships will be what defines us moving forward.”

In addition to his recruitment responsibilities, in his role as Vice President, Kevin is involved in firm-wide management and takes the lead for business development and marketing for Robertson Surrette. This initiative is aimed at effectively promoting talent management across all three practice areas under the Robertson Surrette banner including; Recruitment, Career Transition, and Human Resource Consulting. Kevin also takes a leadership role within the firm around internal HR policies and best practices. As he says, “We need to lead by example regarding our own HR practices if we hope to provide advice to others.”

Kevin is an active leader within the community having served with many important organizations and is currently a board member for the United Way of Halifax. Other volunteer work includes; the Metropolitan Halifax Chamber of Commerce, the Canadian Progress Club, the Nova Scotia Hospital, and Sunshine Dreams for Kids Foundation, and four years serving on the Steering Committee for the "Great Big Gig”, an annual event showcasing Atlantic Canadian youth that has raised over $500,000 for the IWK Health Centre.

A graduate of Saint Mary's University in Halifax, Kevin is committed to continually improving his skills. He makes professional development a top priority, always looking to develop his skills to better serve his clients and assist in the direction of Robertson Surrette. Outside of work Kevin enjoys spending time with his family, running, golf, hockey, and skiing. Having spent much of his youth in Western Canada and the United States, Kevin now calls Nova Scotia home. He resides in the Halifax area with his wife and two daughters.
